About Goldsmiths University Of London and Scholarship
Goldsmiths, University of London, sometimes referred to as Goldsmiths’ College, is a constituent research institution of the University of London in England. It was founded in 1891 as The Goldsmiths’ Technical and Recreational Institute in New Cross, London by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. It was renamed Goldsmiths’ College in 1904 after being acquired by the University of London. It specializes in the humanities, social sciences, design, and computing. At the former location of the Royal Naval School, the Richard Hoggart Building, the focal point of the campus, was constructed for the first time in 1792.
Goldsmiths can provide a studentship for full-time and part-time students of art psychotherapy who have residence status in the UK through the generosity of the Trustees of the Corinne Burton Memorial Trust (CBMT). You need to have been given and accepted an unconditional offer of a spot on the MA, and you can’t already be receiving any grants or awards for fees. In addition to agreeing to practice art therapy with cancer patients for two years after earning your MA, you must be willing to do a portion of your clinical placement at a hospice or working with cancer patients.
The Trust was established in honor of Corinne Burton, a gifted artist who tragically passed away in 1992 from cancer. The Trust was established thanks to donations from the many individuals who appreciated Corinne Burton, and its goal is to further the practice of art therapy for cancer patients.
