About Imperial College of London and Scholarship
London, England is home to Imperial College London, a public research institution. It is occasionally known as Imperial. The Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and several royal colleges were all originally part of Prince Albert’s plan for a cultural area, which he shared with his wife Queen Victoria. Following the issuance of a royal charter, the Imperial College London was formed in 1907 by combining the Royal College of Science, the Royal School of Mines, and the City and Guilds of London Institute. In 1988, the Imperial College School of Medicine was established by uniting with St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School.
In 2004, Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the Imperial College Business School. Imperial College London focuses mostly on engineering, science, business, and medicine. On the main campus in South Kensington, the majority of the teaching and research is done. A second site in White City serves as a center for innovation and business. Teaching hospitals located throughout London are also equipped with a center for academic health research. The college was once a part of the University of London until becoming a separate institution in 2007. With 59% of its students coming from outside the UK and 140 different nations represented on campus, Imperial has a very diverse student body.
Imperial alumni have the best career prospects among UK institutions, according to the 2019 Guardian University Guide and Complete University Guide. According to a 2018 Department for Education assessment, Imperial increased the wages of female graduates by 31.3% above the national average for graduates, while male graduates experienced a comparable rise of 25.3% over the national average for graduates. In the first year following graduation, Imperial alumni earn the best earnings in the UK, according to The Guardian as of 2018.
