The University of Queensland (UQ) is a public research university mostly based in Brisbane, the capital city of the Australian state of Queensland. The Wensley Sporting Scholarship was formed in 2020 by Alumni Friends as part of the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative in honor of The Honourable Dr Penelope Wensley AC. The Alumni Friends Giving Society endowment fund funds this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for Wensley Sporting Scholarship
Candidates are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the Wensley Sporting Scholarship at the University of Queensland:
- Can demonstrate financial necessity and be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa.
- Full-time enrollment is required unless there are extraordinary circumstances that the committee deems appropriate.
The school will consider:
- Sports accomplishments to date;
- Evidence of financial need;
- Potential to play your chosen sport at the highest (state or national) level;
- Any other data the selection committee deems pertinent to your future academic performance.
